  • Promote and sustain a safe and humane Salinas community
  • Educate the public about responsible pet ownership

Spay / Neuter Vouchers

SAS offers Spay/Neuter vouchers to City of Salinas residents in the amount of $50 for male pets and $75 for females. These vouchers can be used at most vets in the Monterey County area. Pet owners are responsible for fees over the voucher amount charged by the veterinarian.

Vouchers are good for two months after the date of issuance. Residents can get the vouchers at SAS. Please bring in photo ID and a current utility bill to prove proof of residence.

Dogs must have current rabies vaccination and a current license. If your dog is not licensed yet, you will need to purchase a dog license (6 month - $13) before you can get a voucher.

Cats will need to have current rabies vaccination before or at the time of surgery.
