Address Assignment or Change

An address assignment is required for:

  • each new address in a new development.
  • adding a new address to an existing building.
  • changing an existing address.

New Address:

An Addressing Assignment/Change application must be completed when a new unit or building is proposed. The address(es) must correspond with the existing addressing and must be approved by the City Engineer. The City Engineer may assign different addressing than that proposed.

Change of Existing Address:

Some reasons for considering an address change include:

  • existing address number out of sequence with the numbers adjacent to the subject property.
  • address number is duplicated or same number exists on similar street name.
  • main entry relocated to a different street.

The address must be approved by the City Engineer and must correspond with existing addressing. The City Engineer may assign different addressing than that proposed.
