FIRE OPERATIONS 101 

Saturday, August 12th - The Salinas Fire Department in partnership with the Salinas Firefighters Local 1270 hosted a Fire Ops event at Fire Station 3. This event gave the perfect opportunity to our key decision makers and local elected officials to experience what Salinas firefighter go through on a day-to-day basis. The day consisted of climbing 105ft aerial ladders, emergency medical episodes, such as a, simulated cardiac arrest event, structure firefighting tactics, and rescue operations. 

Community Risk Reduction 

The following report serves as the Salinas Fire Department Community Risk Assessment: Standards of Cover.(PDF, 8MB)  It follows closely the Center for Fire Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) 6th Edition Community Risk Assessment: Standards of Cover model that develops written procedures to determine the distribution and concentration of a fire and emergency service agency’s fixed and mobile resources. The purpose for completing such a document is to assist the agency in ensuring a safe and effective response force for fire suppression, emergency medical services, and specialty response situations.

National Night Out

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes public safety community partnerships. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and public agencies such as law enforcement and fire while bringing back a true sense of community.
