Seeing these on your oak tree? Our Urban Forestry division has received numerous calls and complaints regarding oak tree worms. Here’s what you need to know:

• Oak tree worms come from the same pest family as butterflies and moths
• Most oak trees survive the occasional oak worm outbreak
• Oak tree worms emerge as oak moths in the fall
• The lifecycle of these worms are approximately 3 months
