Animal Services Plant Sale

Animal Services held its annual plant sale (Plants for Paws) on April 17, 2016, and it was a great success! For the 3rd year in a row, Sakata Seed donated plants left over from their annual vendor show, which were in turn sold to raise funds for the Salinas Animal Shelter (SAS).

Shelter volunteers loaded up their vehicles to get the plants to the SAS the night before to get ready   for  the  event.  The SAS raised over $8000.00 that the shelter will use to reduce the feral cat population in Salinas through spaying and neutering. Sakata staff also volunteered their time to educate people about the plants and how to grow them.
