Elections
The City Clerk serves as the Elections Official for City of Salinas regular and special elections, including processing and certifying ballot initiatives.
You may also visit the Monterey County Elections Department for general elections information. Voter registration forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk, or by calling the Monterey County Registrar of Voters at (831) 796-1499.

November 3, 2020 General Election Information
Notice is hereby given that a general municipal election will be held in the City of Salinas on Tuesday, the 3rd day of November 2020 for the following officers:
- Mayor, elected City-wide, for a short, two-year term
- City Councilmember, District 1, for a full, four- year term
- City Councilmember, District 4, for a full, four-year term
- City Councilmember, District 6, for a full, four-year term
In keeping with the Charter of Salinas Section 2.5(b) the term of office of a Councilmember who files as a candidate for the Office of Mayor shall automatically expire on the Tuesday next succeeding the general municipal election held following that filing.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Please contact the Monterey County Elections Office at (831) 796-1499 for polling locations.
