We are so excited to start sharing materials from the City’s Performance Management program, Salinas Stat.

In early 2020, staff began its Performance Management work at the City.  The City’s Innovation team under the direction of the City Manager, has been charged with helping departments dive deep into the underlying challenges that prevent them from meeting their objectives. Currently, 3 report cards are being released.  The Salinas Fire, Police and Public Works departments each identified an indicator to evaluate the success of one of their programs.  More report cards will be released over the coming months.

Some objectives of the Performance Management program are to:

Improve processes within and between departments
Use data to better target limited resources
Promote employee input in decision-making
Measure the need for new programs and monitor and evaluate their implementation
Update internal processes and structures to support employees and improve services
Promote financial integrity and best practices

All of these objectives support our main goal......Providing better service to you....the residents of Salinas.
