Ribbon cutting ceremony

On Thursday May 10, 2018, the Developer (Century Communities) held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Tierra at Monte Bella Subdivision (Phase 5A).  City Councilmember Gloria De La Rosa along with City Community Development Department Housing Division staff and Century Communities staff were in attendance for the ceremony.  City Councilmember Gloria De La Rosa had the privilege of cutting the ribbon for this new 85-unit single-family ownership development. This Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was followed by tours of three different model homes.  Of the 85 new homes, 9 homes will be constructed as low-income Inclusionary homes for first-time homebuyers as part of the City’s Inclusionary Housing Program. On May 14, 2018, the City held a Lottery drawing wherein 9 low-income Salinas households who are first-time home buyers were given an amazing opportunity for the future purchase of a home at prices ranging from $191,350 to $206,700. The Inclusionary homes are more than half the price from the market-rate homes built within this development. City staff appreciates Century Communities for their welcoming reception and for being a partner in bringing new homes to our community.
