Snow pile at Cesar Chavez Library and line waiting to get in

Children in Salinas got to experience the magic of playing in the snow at the Cesar Chavez Library's fourth annual Snow Day event. Hundreds of kids from all over Monterey County lined up for the chance to play on the imported snow pile. Community Development staff and Building Healthy Communities joined the fun with a raffle of school supplies and used the opportunity to promote important upcoming events for the Alisal Vibrancy Plan. The plan's next large event will be the Alisal Community Design Workshop, on January 24, from 5:30 - 8 PM at the Sherwood Elementary School. This workshop will be in Spanish and English, with lots of opportunities for the community to explore different design options for the Alisal's main corridors and provide feedback on how to make them safer and more attractive.
