The Alisal Vibrancy Plan is an action-oriented, community-developed, and comprehensive strategy for Salinas' Alisal neighborhood. The Plan is the result of years of visioning, community organizing, and relationship building between the City of Salinas and Alisal residents. The City is seeking public comment on the Draft Alisal Vibrancy Plan. Written comments received before 5 PM on October 21 will be included in the official packet for the November 5 City Council Meeting (4 PM, City Hall Rotunda). Public comment at the City Council meeting is also welcome and encouraged.

65 W. Alisal Street, Suite 201

Salinas CA, 93901

The Plan is available to view and download online on the Plan website and the City's website. A physical copy of the plan for in-person review is available at each of the following locations:the City of Salinas Community Development Department  (65 W. Alisal Street), City Hall (200 Lincoln Avenue), the Cesar Chavez Library (615 Williams Road), the Hebbron Family Center (683 Fremont Street), Bread Box Recreation Center (745 N. Sanborn Road), and Firehouse Recreation Center (1330 E. Alisal Street).

At this time, the City is considering accepting the Plan as a strategic planning document, rather than formal adoption. This proposed action does not require a formal public comment period and is not a project as  defined by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) (CEQA Guidelines section 15378).  If recommended policies or actions progress to a “project” level further CEQA analysis will be required to address potential environmental impacts of the proposed project. After the Plan is accepted by Council and final revisions are complete it will also be translated into Spanish.
