City of Salinas Council approved a resolution to establish and fund a small business assistance program in response to COVID-19 under the Grow Salinas Fund using appropriations received through the CARES Act and Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. This program would provide emergency grants to small business impacted by Covid-19.

  • Grow Salinas funds covid-19 economic injury grants are from $2,000 dollars to $10,000 dollars.
  • funds can be used to pay for rent, utilities, payroll, working capital, and other covid-19 related costs such as personal protective equipment, plexiglass and other modifications that are required to re-open and operate safely.

Application period will Open October 19th and Close October 30th 5pm.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • have been operating in a physical storefront within the city for 12 months before February 2020.
  • have a current city of Salinas business license, and be in good standing - (no violations or citations as of March 2020)
  • you will need to confirm that you have not received any other form of covid-19 assistance like PPP or EIDL.
  • you need to be a legal resident or citizen of the united states.

REQUESTED DOCUMENTS

  • proof of legal resident status like for example id, SSN, us passport, legal resident card or legal status documentation
  • City of Salinas business license
  • lease agreements
  • w-2 for all employees 2019
  • 2019 tax returns
  • 2020 profit and loss documentation
  • balance sheet
  • last 12-month bank statement
  • business social media links for example Facebook, Instagram, or twitter or web page

There will be a VIRTUAL ONLINE TOWN HALL FOR Q&A VIA CITY OF SALINAS FACEBOOK LIVE ON OCTOBER 15TH FROM 2PM – 3PM - www.facebook.com/CityOfSalinas and the application web address will be share on that day.
