Supervisor Training Workshop

From April 24 through April 26, three staff members from the Community Development and Library & Community Services departments received supervisor training in Los Angeles, as Salinas prepares to recruit and welcome five VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) Members. These members, who are provided by a grant through the federal Corporation for National and Community Service will focus on building capacity to fight poverty in East Side neighborhoods, such as expanding volunteer tutoring programs and identifying resources for low-income entrepreneurs, and supporting the Alisal Vibrancy planning process. The training focused on how to lead VISTAs on a successful year of service benefiting the community and the service member. Stay tuned for more information on the VISTA program and how to apply.
