The Salinas Fire Department has a rich tradition of opening its doors to our number one customer, our City of Salinas residents. Through station visits for school children, open house days and demonstrations during fire prevention week, school visits and assemblies, and the walk up tour of the fire house, the men and women of the Salinas Fire Department love to show off and talk about fire safety. A common fixture at fire prevention events is Sparky the Fire Dog, who is used to help educate children in fire safety.
