Several hundred Salinas residents joined library staff for one last farewell to El Gabilan Library on Saturday, July 7th, in anticipation of opening a new, and much larger library in late 2019, early 2020. Mayor Joe Gunter, Albert Fong, Commissioner, and Ken Allen, President of the Friends of the Salinas Public Library joined Library & Community Services Director Cary Ann Siegfried to mark this important day in the history of the Salinas Public Library. The community enjoyed cake, family crafts, live music from Dan Beck, and performances from students of the Elena Volkova Piano studio.

Salinas residents will have continued access to library services at the The Library Connection @ Northridge Mall. The temporary location is next to Sears, and the children's play area. For more information, please call Eric Howard at (831) 758-7419.
