Development Impact Fees

You are here

The Community Development Department collects development fees for all construction requiring a permit. Fees collected include permit fees, impact fees, development fees and entitlement fees.

Estimates:

Staff can provide estimates for permit applications.  To request an estimate, email the scope of work, valuation of work, proposed new square footage and number of new bedrooms for the project to askbuilding@ci.salinas.ca.us and an estimate can be provided.

For a Development Impact Fee worksheet or information to do work within the public right of way, encroachment permit estimates can be requested through our Public Works Department by emailing [email protected].

Outside agencies:

In addition to City fees, certain projects may trigger fees charged by groups outside of the cities jurisdiction.  Staff recommends applicants contact the following groups as soon as the scope of work is determined.

Monterey One Water

Sewage originating in Salinas is transported underground through the City by a collection system before ultimately being transported to Marina where it is treated.
