Several years ago, Salinas Police Officers were contacted by Administrators from the Monte Bella Elementary School. A local business had pledged to purchase bikes for kids with perfect attendance. However, when it came time to purchase the bikes the business was unable to give a donation.  Salinas Police officers in conjunction with the Alisal Rotary stepped up and purchased these bikes for the kids.  This continues to be a tradition with Salinas Police Officers to help fund the purchase of the bikes.  This year 78 students had perfect attendance and received bicycles.
