Salinas Police Department has joined 3500 other law enforcement agencies across the globe to support awareness of breast cancer.The Pink Patch Project is a public awareness campaign designed to bring attention to the fight against breast cancer and all cancer research organizations in combating this devastating disease.

In addition to public education efforts, the Pink Patch Project has the added goal of raising funds from the sale of Pink Patch Project items that go directly to fund the research and education to help find a cure.

The program centers on vibrant pink versions of the public safety officer’s uniform patch. These bright pink patches have been especially designed by each of the participating agencies like Salinas Police Department where officers have been authorized to wear the pink patches since October 1st and they will be worn on their regular uniforms for the entire month of October each year during “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. Officers purchased these patches with their personal funds.

You can support the Pink Patch Project by purchasing Pink Patches at the Salinas Police Department for $10 each. All proceeds go directly to the American Cancer Society.
