Disadvantaged, Small Business, and Minority/Women Business Enterprise Firms Program


NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City of Salinas, has established a proposed Three-Year Overall Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal of 13.7% applicable to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)/US Department of Transportation (DOT)-assisted contracting opportunities scheduled to be awarded during the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024. The proposed goal and its rationale, developed in response to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program Final Rule (49 CFR Part 26), are available for inspection between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at the City of Salinas, Public Works Department (831-758-7241) located at 200 Lincoln Avenue, Salinas, CA 93901. 

Comments on the DBE goal will be accepted for 30 days from the date of this publication, and can be sent to the following:

The City of Salinas is fully committed to encouraging participation of socially and economically disadvantaged, minority, women and small business firms in the performance of public works contracts financed in whole or in part with federal funds [as required by Title 49 Part 26.5, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)].

All prospective bidders are encouraged to seek services offered by certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprise firms, Small Business Enterprise firms and Minority/Woman Business Enterprise firms.
