City of Salinas Public Works Engineering staff and the Williams Road Improvements team hosted an open house community meeting at the Salinas Firehouse Recreation Center on Monday, July 8th, 2019 to display the conceptual design to the members of the community and to allow an opportunity for the public to have a one-on-one discussion with members of the Williams Road team about the project.  Several members of the Williams Road community showed up to the meeting and were encouraged to leave feedback regarding the project's concept and to give input on the landscaping design.  Prior to this open house and before beginning the concept design, the project team held a workshop and several pop-up meetings and activities to engage and inform the public.

Community members at the meeting showed positive feedback of the project and expressed the need for pedestrian safety at this corridor.  The Williams Road Improvements project is now ready to move forward on the design phase.  Construction is marked for Fall 2022.
