The City of Salinas is currently accepting bids for construction projects listed at PlanetBids.com below. Prospective bidders must register on the Planet Bids web site to view and print bid packages. Only registered bidders will receive updates and addenda. If the Bidder is not registered on the Planet Bids website when submitting a Bid they shall be disqualified.
Local Purchasing Preference To Be Applied To Public Works Contracts
In late 2014, Salinas City Council amended the City’s Local Purchasing Preference Ordinance to include professional services and Public Works contracts that exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) (Sec.12-28.060).
Public Works contracts (Sec. 12-28.050) - In determining the lowest bid for a public works contract, a qualified local business will receive a five-percent (5%) preference.
In order to be recognized as a “local business,” contractors must submit a Declaration of Local Business Form to the City’s Finance Department.
