A new traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of E Laurel Drive and St Edwards Avenue. The project was funded by Measure X funds. Work began in October 2017 and included the installation of a new traffic signal, intersection improvements, new pedestrian sidewalk ramps, and a new Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus shelter to improve pedestrian and vehicular safety.

These improvements provide additional security, which was the biggest concern from residents using this intersection to access parks, local transportation, and local medical centers.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on September 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. All are welcome!

For further information regarding the project, please contact Patrick Fung, Assistant Engineer at (831) 758-7186.
