All Public Works Crews were deployed at 6AM as of Tuesday, February 21, 2017.  Since the beginning of the storm in the early morning hours of Friday, February 17th, the Public Works Department has received 385 requests for service, with an estimated 650 trees down (this number is expected to rise).

Below is a summary of current conditions:

TREES:

  • Four Tree Contactor crews are assisting City Forces 

  • Republic Services is assisting with a mobile grapple and dump trucks to help in clearing downed trees and brush

  • Constitution Soccer fields is being used as an overflow debris site

STREETS:

  • Bolivar Street is open, street closure barricades will be left in place for the week just in case they are needed again 

  • Old Stage Road has a large washout, road is passable 

  • Two Street backhoes and two operators are deployed to assist tree clearing 

  • All other personnel on pothole and street damage repair

  • Work Alternative crew is assisting with street repair 

PARKS:

  • Four employees on duty 

  • Park damage assessment proceeding  

  • All play structures are being inspected   

  • El Dorado, Central, Sherwood Parks remain closed 

  • Natividad Park partially open 

  • Individual parks will open as they are certified safe for use

FACILITIES:

  • Initial inspection of all facilities completed

  • Roof leaks most common issue reported 

  • No major structure damage reported 

  • Power restored to City Facilities    

WASTE WATER: 

  • Lake Street lift station is functional, no threat to the station 

  • Emergency equipment will soon be demobilized 

  • Assessment of additional sweeping needs is in progress 

  • 115 San Juan Grade Road undermined last night, temporary repairs completed 

  • All creeks and reclamation ditches within City being inspected 

  • List of damage to creeks & waterways will be completed Friday, 2/24/17
