Did you know that Recycling saves your business money?

Save Money Recycling GraphicWhile Recycling is now mandatory for Salinas businesses and multifamily complexes, it also costs less than disposing of recyclable materials into the trash.

RECYCLING is GOOD Business
  • Businesses SAVE MONEY by RECYCLING MORE.
  • Recycling and yard waste are offered at half the cost or less of comparable trash services.
  • Recycling conserves resources and extends the life of our local landfill.
  • Recycling and waste reduction are important for a strong local economy and improved public health.

What are the Requirements?

State law requires all commercial and public entities that generate 4 or more cubic yards of trash (solid waste) per week, and all multifamily complexes of 5 or more units regardless of the amount of waste produced, to maintain recycling programs. The law also sets a statewide target of 75% diversion of waste from our landfills. For more information, visit Salinas Valley Recycles or CalRecycle’s website: Mandatory Commercial Recycling.
