On Saturday, August 15th, Scott Nelson, an Eagle Scout candidate, led his Boy Scouts troop in a comprehensive clean-up of a local community garden. Scott and his troop gave the Community Garden located at Central Park a much needed face lift. Scott will be receiving the coveted rank of Eagle Scout for successfully planning and implementing this project. One of the Boy Scouts and City of Salinas’ goals is to provide leadership opportunities to youth and members of the community. All proper social distancing, mask wearing and other COVID -19 safety precautions were observed during the clean-up.

Congratulations, Scott Nelson and thank you and your troop for making Salinas a better place to live, learn and play.
