Celebrating our Volunteers

News Date:
April 15, 2019

Last week, Neighborhood Services celebrated National Volunteer Week, April 7-13, 2019, at several of our sites by hosting ice cream socials at the Animal Shelter, Cesar Chavez Library, John Steinbeck Library and the Hebbron Family Center. We also acknowledged the Sun Street Center's Men's Residential Program at City Council by honoring them with a Certificate of Recognition.

Neighborhood Services is proud of its volunteers who not only serve the community with pride and commitment, but help to ensure that Salinas is a great place to live, work and play. Volunteers are one of our community's greatest assets!

Are you interested in volunteering? There are many opportunities to get involved whether with neighborhood cleanups, coaching sports, tutoring youth in one of our homework centers, and much more. New volunteer orientations take place monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at the Salinas Recreation Center at 4:00 pm, and the third Tuesday of the month at Cesar Chavez Library at 4:00 pm.
