The staff at the Firehouse Recreation Center Senior Program taught the seniors how to make and customize their own bath bombs on Wednesday, August 8th.

This was a great activity for the seniors providing a very important sensory experience. They were able to watch and hear the bath bombs fizz a little while mixing the ingredients, they smelled the fragrant lemon grass essential oils, and saw the colors appear as they added the food coloring. This activity had other benefits as well; hand/eye coordination while measuring the ingredients and their use of fine motor skills while squishing and pressing the mixture into molds. Many wanted the recipe so that they could share this activity with their grandchildren.

They loved the way their hands felt after washing with the bath bombs. The seniors requested that this activity be scheduled again in the future. Fun times! Great memories!
