COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus)

Dear City of Salinas Community,

We want to take a moment to update you on the state of the City and the services we provide. We assure you that we take the health and well-being of our community and employees very seriously and we're closely monitoring the quickly developing effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

By now, you are likely aware of the statewide and County of Monterey shelter-in-place order in effect indefinitley. City Council has also declared the City of Salinas in state of emergency to limit exposure to COVID-19. To comply with the order and help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have closed non-essential business and limited essential counter business hours. City Hall, Fire Stations, Libraries and Recreation, Public Works Environmental Maintenance and Salinas Municipal Airport are closed until the end of the shelter-in-place order. Police Services and Permit Center will provide limited essential services only. For more information on the local emergency declaration,  the effect on City of Salinas departments, and press releases see document lists below.
