Salinas Public Library


Salinas Public Library is committed to helping every member of our community achieve their educational and vocational goals, as well as providing safe and inclusive spaces for residents to meet, learn and connect with one another.

Our Library has proudly served the community since 1909 when it first opened its doors as a Carnegie library. Today, there are three library locations that provides hundreds of thousands of educational and entertaining books, audiobooks, DVDs, Blu-rays, music CDs, newspapers and magazines for free community borrowing, with a library card. The Digital Library available 24/7 to provide community research resources, along with digital media downloads and streaming services.

Library programs that meet the needs of Salinas community, with various themes and topics, are available year-round for all ages.

Cesar Chavez Library

Hours: Tuesday thru Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., and Friday & Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

El Gabilan Library

Hours: Monday, Friday & Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday thru Thursday from 12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
