Sister Cities, Salinas

Salinas is a member of Sister Cities International, Inc., whose mission is to “promote peace through mutual respect, understanding, & cooperation - one individual, one community at a time.” Created by President Eisenhower in 1956, the Sister Cities’ association enables communities to “creatively learn, work, and solve problems through cultural, educational, municipal, business, professional, and technical exchanges and projects.” Sister Cities International’s membership also includes community groups interested in promoting people-to-people exchanges.
