About the Department

The Library and Community Services Department provides a wealth of resources and opportunities to enrich the lives of those who live, work, play, and learn in our community.

The Department consists of three divisions: Recreation & Park Services, Community Outreach & Engagement, and Library Services. 

Core Goals

To transform lives and contribute to the health and wellness of our community by providing an array of recreational, cultural, educational, and neighborhood services for youth, families, and seniors. 

To improve the quality of life in Salinas through collaborative problem-solving and the provision of information and resources that are relevant, accessible, responsive to the community's needs.
