Centered in one of the world's premier agricultural areas and just one hour from Silicon Valley, the City of Salinas is poised for long-term economic growth. The Economic Development Division's purpose is to enhance the economic well-being of the city and its residents by increasing the number of middle-income and upper-income job opportunities and growing the City’s revenue base to support City services.  Primary economic development strategies include  real estate management and site attraction, business retention, expansion and marketing, and small business and entrepreneur support.
